Rusko is set in the centre of beautiful Dumfries & Galloway,
2 - 6 miles from the attractive and historic town of Gatehouse
of Fleet and the main A75, and just 45 minutes from Dumfries
and Stranraer.
Getting to Rusko by car:
We are just over the Border with England, 1½ hours from
Carlisle and 2 hours from the Lake District, 4 hours from Manchester
or Leeds, 2 ½ hours from Edinburgh and Glasgow (making a
day trip a very real possibility) and only 7 hours from London
(it takes 14 hours to get to the Highlands!). Once here, you'll
find that our quiet country roads make driving a pleasure while
the A75, which carries surprisingly little traffic, makes getting
from one end of the Region to the other a piece of cake!
From Ireland: - there are
over 20 ferry crossings a day from Larne or
Belfast to Stranraer and Cairnryan. Stena Line
run wonderful day coach trips to the Giant's
Causeway and Belfast.
The London to Stranraer bus stops in Gatehouse of Fleet
every day.
There is a fast train service from England to Glasgow via
Dumfries.
The nearest stations are Dumfries & Stranraer.
Arriving by Air - There are Airports in
Edinburgh, Glasgow and Prestwick (only 1¼ hours from
Rusko with very cheap flights to Stansted and Luton - Ryanair
and Easyjet).
